Updated Royal Enfield Thunderbird spotted

In addition to the Classic, Royal Enfield seems to be working on cosmetic and mechanical updates for the Thunderbird. The bike was seen testing in Chennai.

The test bike appears to feature a new rear fender. The fuel tank seems to have been updated with the fuel filler cap now positioned in the centre. The gas-charged rear shock absorbers are likely to be replaced with conventional units. The test bike is also sporting a more compact exhaust.

Like the Classic, the new Thunderbird also has the brake discs mounted on the right side of the wheels. This means that the chain has been moved to the left-hand-side. The bike is also likely to get updated 350cc and 500cc BS-VI compliant engines. Dual-channel ABS is expected to be offered as standard.
