VW's MQB A0 37 platform could underpin new-gen Kushaq, Taigun

The next-gen Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun are likely to be launched between 2027 and 2030.

The next-generation Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, VW Virtus and Taigun could switch to the larger MQB A0 37 platform. According to a media report, the carmaker plans to localize the new architecture, which underpins the gen-3 Octavia.

The current range of VW and Skoda cars, part of the ‘India 2.0’ project, is based on the gen-2 MQB A0 27 platform introduced in 2016. Designed for small products like the VW Polo, T-Roc and Skoda Kamiq, it was limited in length and width.

This fact becomes more evident when you compare the Kushaq and Taigun with their rivals. Both SUVs look smaller compared to other models in the segment. This could be addressed if they switch to the MQB A0 37 architecture, which also supports hybrid powertrains.

As per the report, the carmaker is still exploring this platform for the next-gen Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun. The new models are likely to be launched between 2027 and 2030.
