Tata Curv EV to get two battery options with up to 55 kWh

The Curvv EV will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.

Tata Motors recently unveiled the Curvv SUV Coupe for the Indian market. It will come in ICE and EV versions, with the latter getting two battery options. 

According to a media report, the Curvv EV will get a 55 kWh battery pack, while lower variants are expected to use a 40.5 kWh battery from the Nexon.ev LR variant.

The 40.5 kWh battery has an ARAI-certified range of 465 km. Details of the larger 55 kWh battery are yet to be announced, however, we can expect it to have a range of 550 km on a single charge. Both variants will be powered by a single electric motor mounted on the front axle.

The Curvv EV will be packed with several advanced features and creature comforts. Reports suggest the electric SUV will get a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Arcade.EV, and more than 15 OTT apps. It will be hooked up to a 9-speaker audio system. The EV will also get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated and powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof and a wireless charger.

The Curvv EV is expected to get several safety aids, including a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and Level 2 ADAS with driver drowsiness detection. The EV will also feature iRA 2.0 connected tech.

The Curvv EV will be launched on August 7. It will compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
