We had earlier reported that the all-new BMW 5 Series G30 has been imported into India in its 530d guise. Now, new import data suggests that the German automaker has also brought in a less powerful version of the same, with the 520d badge. Both these imports have come in India even before the new-gen model's official world debut, which is scheduled for the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October.

While the 530d was imported on September 7th, its smaller sibling was brought in the next day, i.e., September 8th. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, in comparison to the 530d's bigger 3.0-litre mill. Detailed technical specifications of the new 5-er will come to light only after its debut at the Paris Motor Show.

The new-gen G30 model will be replacing the F10 5 Series, which was introduced in 2011. Since the company has already started the homologation process, the 2017 BMW 5 Series G30 will likely launch in India by the first half of next year.
