Skoda Yeti Facelift images surface in Europe

Images of the facelifted 2014 Skoda Yeti SUV have hit the interweb, ahead of the car model's official unveiling that's likely to happen at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. The 2014 Yeti gets a host of cosmetic changes on the outside and minor detailing changes on the inside.

The SUV is expected to retain its engine line up without any changes, although an improvement in engine performance could happen as has been the case with the 2013 Octavia's turbo petrol and turbo diesel motors.  So, the 2 liter turbo diesel engine outputting 150 Bhp-320 Nm, up from 140 Bhp-320 Nm is very likely.

Internationally, the 1.8 liter TSI turbo petrol engine could also get a power bump up to 175 Bhp and 250 Nm, from 160 Bhp-250 Nm. The manual and DSG automatic transmissions will be retained and so will the two wheel drive and all wheel drive layouts, depending on the variant chosen. The SUV is also available with a 1.2 Liter and 1.4 liter TSI petrol engines internationally.

Delving into the visual changes, the 2014 Yeti gets a new front bumper, new headlamps, reshaped fog lamps that get re-positioned to the bottom of the front bumper, a new bonnet, new design language and emblem for the grille, new tail lamps, new hatch lid and a refreshed rear bumper. The SUV will be available with two body finishes: City and Outdoor.

While body coloured parts dominate the Yeti City, the Yeti Outdoor features the more-butch looking matte black finish for body parts such as the bumpers and claddings. On the inside of the 2014 Yeti Facelift, Skoda has replaced the steering with a new unit while the seat fabric gets a once over. The overall theme on the inside of the car is chocolate brown. The facelifted Yeti could be launched in India sometime next year.
