Rumour: Skoda Octavia Black Edition India launch in January

Skoda India will reportedly be launching the Octavia Black Edition in the country in January next year. It was globally revealed in 2014 as part of the Black Edition series, which consists of sportier iterations of Skoda's existing models.

In line with its name, the Octavia Black Edition will adorn blacked-out exterior design elements, including alloy wheels, ORVMs, bootlid spoiler, and front grille surround. The interiors too borrow the blacked out design theme, with all-black dashboard upholstery and sports seats. There might be a few feature additions as well, though deeper details about the same haven’t surfaced yet.

Interestingly, Skoda has already marked the global premiere of the facelifted Octavia, which will go on sale in Europe from next year. However, the Indian market is expected to continue with the current model for a bit longer. In addition to the black edition, Skoda has one more variant of the Octavia in the pipeline - the performance oriented Octavia vRS, which is also expected to be launched in India later next year.
