Refreshed Maruti Dzire launched

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the refreshed Dzire compact sedan which is now more fuel efficient than ever before. Fuel efficiency figures have been bumped up to the tune of ~13% for the diesel, taking the ARAI figures up from 23.4 kmpl to 26.59 kmpl, making it the most fuel-efficient car in the country and beating its premium sibling - Ciaz (26.21 kmpl). Even the petrol motor witnesses a bump in fuel efficiency by 9% taking the ARAI figures from 19.1 kmpl to 20.85 kmpl. These improved figures are a result of changes to the engine hardware to improve thermal efficiency, reduce frictional losses and changes in engine calibration.

The engines of the Dzire remain the same as before i.e a 1,248cc DDiS diesel unit and a 1,197cc K-series VVT petrol unit. While efficiency figures have gone up, the power figures of the petrol unit have gone down slightly from 86 BHP to 83 BHP. The torque figures for both as well as the power figures for the diesel remain unchanged.

Changes to the exteriors include a chrome front grill, front fog lamps with chrome accents, 'motion' alloy wheels, smoked out headlamps and new bumpers.

Interiors include features such as an engine start/stop button, electrically retractable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, new interior upholstery, front and rear 12V sockets, audio and Bluetooth control on steering, electromagnetic boot operation and reverse parking sensors.

Four new colours have been added to the palette which include Cave Black, Alp Blue, Magma Grey and Sangria Red. Pearl Arctic White, Silky Silver and Prime Pacific Blue will be carried forward from earlier.

Prices (ex-showroom Delhi) for the refreshed Swift Dzire include:
