Kia has introduced its flagship electric SUV in the Indian market. The EV9 is available in a single fully-loaded variant priced at Rs 1.30 crore (ex-showroom).
The Kia EV9 is based on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). In India, the electric SUV is available in the GT-Line AWD 6-seater variant. On the outside, the EV9 features LED headlamps with a dynamic welcome function, automatic flush-fitting door handles, and 20-inch Crystal-cut alloy wheels.
The EV9 is available with two interior trim options. It gets leatherette upholstery, dual 12.3-inch screens with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated emblem, a head-up display, a wireless charger, 3-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and a dual sunroof. The EV9 comes with a 99.8 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of 561 km (WLTP cycle). It powers two electric motors – one on each axle, with a combined output of 383 BHP and 700 Nm, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
The EV9 supports DC fast charging, which can recharge the battery from 10-80% in just 24 minutes. It also supports Vehicle 2 Load (V2L).
