A completely undisguised test mule of the second generation Audi Q5 was spotted in Pune in October 2017. Recently, the new Q5 was spotted parked at a dealership stock yard indicating that the launch might be imminent.

The new Q5 can be seen parked next to the current generation Q5 giving us the opportunity to compare the two side-by-side. As you can see, the new Q5 has a hexagonal, single-frame, chrome grille flanked by angular headlights. No separate fog lamps can be seen on the car as well. The front bumper has been redesigned and has larger intakes than its predecessor. At the rear, the new Q5 gets similarly shaped tail lights with new design LEDs. The rear bumper has been reworked and now features integrated chrome-tipped quad-exhausts. The overall shape of the Q5 hasn’t changed much however this particular TDI version appears to have larger sized wheels than the older petrol variant parked next to it.

The new Q5 is expected to be offered with updated interiors as well. Audi’s Virtual Cockpit featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster will be available on the new model.

Audi hasn’t confirmed the engines that will be offered on the new Q5. It seems highly likely that the next-gen Q5 might receive the 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. In its current tune, the engine produces 174 BHP @ 4,200 rpm and 380 Nm @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. A 7-speed S tronic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive comes standard.
