Kia has taken the wraps off the Carens Clavis. It is an updated version of the existing Carens that is said to bridge the gap between MPVs and SUVs. Bookings will open tonight at 12 am.
The design of the Carens Clavis is based on Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy. It features the brand’s signature Digital Tiger Face with Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps and LED DRLs, as well as Starmap LED connected taillamps. It rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
Inside, the Carens Clavis offers 3-row seating. The 2-row seats can slide and recline, and have a one-touch electric tumble function. It also offers a segment-first walk-in lever for easy access.
The Carens Clavis is equipped with a massive 26.62-inch dual panoramic display featuring the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment. It also comes with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, seat-mounted air purifier, a 360-degree camera, and stop lamp illumination in the rear doors.
The Carens Clavis is offered with a Level 2 ADAS suite, which includes safety features like Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop and Go, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Front Collison-Avoidance Assist- Direct Oncoming, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, Blind View Monitor in Cluster and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist. It also has 6 airbags, ESC and a Rear Occupant Alert system.
The Carens Clavis will be available with three engine options. These include the 1.5L Petrol, 1.5L Turbo Petrol and 1.5L Diesel engine.
The Carens Clavis will be available in 7 variants: HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX & HTX+. Customers can choose from 8 exterior colours – Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Clear White.
