Triumph Speed Triple RX teased ahead of debut

It is likely to be a sportier version of the Speed Triple 1200 RS and could borrow components from the Speed Triple RR.

Triumph has teased a new variant of the Speed Triple. It is likely to be called the Speed Triple RX, and is set to make its global debut on May 13.

The Speed Triple RX is expected to be a sportier version of the already bonkers Speed Triple 1200 RS and could borrow components from the Speed Triple RR. The teaser reveals an aggressive streetfighter design with Speed Triple’s signature headlamp pod up front and a short tail section.

The Speed Triple RX is expected to be powered by the same 1,160cc, inline 3-cylinder engine as the standard version. On the RS, this unit puts out 177.5 BHP and 125 Nm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Speed Triple RX could also feature semi-active electronic suspension with an upside-down fork in the front and a mono-shock in the rear. Braking will be handled by dual rotors in the front and a single disc in the back.
