Tesla's India head Prashanth Menon resigns

Menon is also stepping down as the chairman of Tesla India’s board.

Tesla’s India country head, Prashanth Menon, has stepped down ahead of the EV maker’s long-awaited market entry.

Menon is also stepping down as the chairman of Tesla India’s board, after being with the company for around 9 years.

During his time at Tesla, Menon set up the Indian office in Pune in 2021. Before heading Tesla India, he served as the director advisory of cost, process and regulatory measures at Tesla in the US.

According to media reports, Tesla is yet to name his successor, and in the meantime, teams in China will oversee the brand’s Indian operations.

In February, Tesla posted multiple job openings in India. It is said that the local hiring process has been completed.
