Hyosung GT250R gets facelift; bookings open

Korean motorcycle manufacturer, Hyosung is preparing to introduce the GT250R facelift in India. A picture put up by Top Gear shows that the facelift consists of a couple of mild updates to the styling of the bike.

The facelift features a redesigned fairing and a new headlight. The fairing is now similar looking to the more expensive GT650R. In fact, because of the changes, the GT250R is now difficult to tell apart from its larger sibling. The only visual difference between the two bikes is that the 250R sports an exhaust with an aluminium finish while that of the 650R gets a matt black finish. Additionally, the 250R's tyres are thinner than those of the 650R.

On the mechanical front there are no changes to the GT250R. It continues to use the 249 cc, fuel-injected, V-Twin engine as before. The unit produces 28 bhp @ 10000 rpm and 22.07 Nm of torque @ 8000 rpm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The official launch of the GT250R is rumoured to be around the corner. Hyosung is accepting bookings for the bike, which has been priced at Rs. 3.11 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
