NHAI Toll Information System: India's Toll Plaza data online

The National Highways Authority of India has put up a list of all the toll plazas in the country on the internet. With this move, the organisation is attempting to increase transparency.

Toll Information System, as the website is referred to, will allow highway users to get information about all the toll plazas they will have to cross on a particular road trip in the country.

For a start, the website can display the entire list of top plazas in the country. A particular toll plaza can be searched for using the name or location. This will give users information like:

• Commercial opening date of the toll plaza
• Capital cost of project
• Cumulative toll revenue
• Traffic
• Name of Concessionaire
• Name and contact details of the incharge
• Toll Rates for different types of vehicles

Going further, a map of India showing all the toll plazas in the country with their exact locations can be obtained. Toll plazas have been given different colour icons depending on their type.

• Public funded - orange
• BOT- blue
• OMT - purple
• SVP- green
• Bridges - brown

Again, any one particular toll plaza can be searched for on the map. Additionally, information on toll plazas between two given stations can be searched for by entering source and destination. The user can also add multiple "via" points.

Toll Information System can also be accessed through SMS by sending a text message to 56070 in the following format.
