Volkswagen has unveiled its Polo-based compact SUV - T-Cross Breeze, at the Geneva Motor Show.

Volkswagen terms this as an open-top SUV and an affordable cabriolet with a raised seating position for better visibility. The T-Cross provides a glimpse of the company's design language for future products.

The T-Cross Breeze is based on Volkswagen's MQB architecture and when it goes into production, it is likely to be powered by a range of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines. Reports suggest that the vehicle is likely to be launched in 2018. It measures 4,133 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, 1,563 mm in height and has a wheelbase measuring 2,565 mm.

The SUV concept is equipped with LED headlights, predictive driving mode selection, a 300W BeatsAudio sound system, active information display, human machine interface and Eco mode.

Volkswagen claims that it will be developing its SUV range and will offer an SUV option in every core segment.
