VinFast to launch its first electric SUV in India in April 2024

VinFast aims to compete with the American EV maker Tesla in India.

Vietnam-based EV maker, VinFast Auto, is all set to launch its first EV in the Indian market in April 2024.

According to a media report, the Tesla-rivaling EV maker plans to launch 2-3 electric SUVs starting with the VF e-34 crossover. It is likely to be imported via the CBU route.

VinFast also plans to bring its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs to India. The report states that these would be assembled locally. Subsequently, the brand will introduce more models including a full-size sedan.

The VinFast VF8 was spotted in India for the first time in June last year. The SUV comes in a dual-motor configuration with a combined output of 397 BHP and 620 Nm and has an estimated maximum range of 471 km (WLTP cycle).
