Mahindra elevates R Velusamy to head its Automotive Business

Veejay Nakra will head the Farm Equipment Business, while Hemant Sikka will lead Mahindra Logistics.

The Mahindra Group has announced new appointments to key leadership positions across three of its businesses, elevating senior leaders from within the company.

R Velusamy has been appointed as the President of the Automotive Business. He will oversee both the SUV and LCV (under 3.5 tonnes) segments from January 2026.

Currently, Velusamy is the President of Automotive Technology and Product Development. The new role brings full profit and loss responsibility across the automotive division.

Veejay Nakra, who is currently the President of the Automotive Division, will lead the Farm Equipment Business (FEB). He will report to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director of Mahindra & Mahindra.

Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector (FES), has been appointed as the MD and CEO of Mahindra Logistics Ltd. He replaces Ram Swaminathan, who is stepping down to explore other avenues. Nakra and Sikka will take charge of their new roles from May 5, 2025.
