Team-BHP renders the Nissan Sunny Facelift

Later this year, Nissan India plans to launch a facelifted version of its best selling car model, the Sunny C-segment sedan. Team-BHP's rendering artist AntlerRoad has put together a speculative render of the facelifted Sunny sedan. As depicted through the render, the Sunny could get a sharper looking front end, with the sedan following the new design language adopted by the new crop of Nissan cars. A new grille, bumper and bonnet could be the various stylistic changes on the facelifted model.

The new design language is intended to make Nissan cars ditch the soft looks for a more aggressive stance. The facelifted Sunny could derive inspiration from the recently facelifted Micra hatchback when it comes to the feature set on offer. So, expect the Sunny facelift to be made available with a range of new features. Rumours suggest that Nissan India is considering a cut price version of the Sunny sedan, a strategy that it adopted with the launch of the cut-price Micra Active and the Micra facelift models.

If these rumours indeed have some substance to them, the cut-price version of the Sunny could be priced and positioned lower than the car's current positioning. The facelifted Sunny, with an additional set of features could move up the value chain, competing with C-segment sedans such as the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. Such a move will give Nissan the benefit of covering multiple segments, the entry level and the regular C-segments in this case.

The engines and transmissions are expected to be unchanged on the facelifted Sunny model. Currently, Nissan India offers the Sunny sedan with two engine options: a 1.5 liter HR15DE petrol engine that outputs 99 Bhp-134 Nm and a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine that delivers 85 Bhp-200 Nm. Both engines get a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard while the petrol engined model is also available with a CVT automatic gearbox. Top end variants of the Sunny come with twin airbags, ABS and EBD as standard.
