Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition unveiled with 470 BHP

The car will not be offered to the public as it is just aimed to celebrate the Mk3 Superb.

Skoda has unveiled a unique version of its outgoing Mk3 Superb Estate in the UK, called the 'Sleeper Edition'.

The new Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition offers the unassuming appearance of the standard model but with a bunch of mechanical and performance upgrades underneath.

The Superb Sleeper Edition is based on the top-spec 'L&K 4x4' variant with the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. However, the powertrain has been upgraded to put out a whopping 470 BHP and 661 Nm; instead of 270 BHP and 350 Nm on the standard model. This has been achieved via a comprehensive engine upgrade, a larger Garrett Powermax turbocharger and a bigger intercooler. In addition, Skoda has also revised the fuel system, along with a bespoke exhaust downpipe and centre section while the factory-fitted exhaust box is retained to ensure the sleeper look.

The Superb Sleeper Edition also gets new KW coilover suspension and AP Racing disc brakes with bright red six-pot calipers. The upgraded suspension reduces the estate's ground clearance by 50mm - the only giveaway from the standard model.

The Sleeper Edition is said to be a one-off model and comes finished in a Royal Green Metallic paint scheme with Cognac leather upholstery on the inside. The car will not be offered to the public as it is just aimed to celebrate the Mk3 Superb.
