Tata Kite test mule spotted

The new small car from Tata Motors has been spotted doing test runs near Tata's Pune factory. The car is codenamed 'Kite' and is likely to roll out of Tata Motors' Sanand plant.

This car will fill the gap above the Nano and is likely to be pitted against cars like the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto K10 and Datsun Go. The test mule is completely camouflaged and not much can be learned about the design. However, it is likely to carry Tata's smiling front fascia with what the company calls the 'humanity line'. It is the line which runs below the front grill and connects the headlights. The Kite like any other Tata is expected to offer maximum cabin room and might be feature rich as well.

As mentioned in our previous article, Tata plans to launch two completely new models each year for the next 5 years. This could very well be the car that Tata Motors will launch in 2015, after launching the Zest and Bolt this year.

Also, in the picture, the Tata Nano AMT has been sighted. The key addition to the Nano will be the Magnetti Marelli-built F-Tronic AMT along with an openable hatch and a few other cosmetic changes.
