Simple Energy Mark 2 e-scooter to be launched on August 15

The Mark 2 will compete with the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube in the Indian market.

Bangalore-based start-up, Simple Energy has announced the launch date for its first electric scooter.

The Mark 2 will make its debut on August 15, 2021. The Simple Energy Mark 2 is a compact and sporty looking e-scooter and will compete with the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. It comes with an LED headlamp and a touchscreen instrument console that has navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Mark 2 uses a mid-drive motor that is powered by a 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. The company claims a 0-50 km/h acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 100 km/h. The battery is said to offer a maximum range of 240 km on a single charge.
