Rumour: Yamaha Fazer 25's India launch before festive season

If recent media reports are to be believed, the Yamaha Fazer 25 will launch in India before the festive season of this year. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer is yet to announce an official launch date of the Fazer 25 in India, though spy shots of the bike have already flooded the Internet.

The Fazer 25 is essentially a semi-faired version of the FZ25 naked motorcycle that is already on sale in India. It will thus borrow the platform and powertrain from its naked sibling. As a result, the Fazer 250 will draw power from the same 249 cc, single cylinder, air cooled fuel-injection engine. Under the FZ25, this engine develops 20.6 BHP and 20 Nm of peak torque. However, the output figures might be tweaked on the semi-faired version.

It is also being reported that production of the new Yamaha Fazer 25 will commence from August 2017, while a launch is expected in early October.
