Rumour: Toyota Innova Crysta to get new Touring Sport variant

Toyota is reportedly planning to launch a new Touring Sport variant of the Innova Crysta MPV, which will come with some cosmetic tweaks, while being mechanically unchanged. The launch of the Innova Crysta Touring Sport is expected to take place next month, i.e. April 2017.

Reports suggest that the Innova Crysta Touring Sport will look similar to the Innova Venturer that is currently on sale in Indonesia. A set of spy shots surfaced on the Internet reveals that this new model will get some add-on cosmetic elements like black plastic cladding on the lower body panels & wheel arches, new 16-inch blacked out alloy wheels and additional chrome inserts on the ORVMs, fog lamp housings, body cladding & front grille.

The interior layout and features are expected to be identical to the regular ZX trim of the Innova Crysta. However, the Touring Sport variant will be available only in the six-seater layout and will come with premium leather upholstery and new floor mats.

No mechanical changes will be made to the upcoming special edition model. The regular Innova is currently available with three engine options: a petrol and two diesels. It remains to be seen whether the Touring Sport variant is launched with all powertrain combinations or is limited to a single engine.
