Official: Skoda upcoming SUV named Kodiaq

Skoda has officially announced that their upcoming SUV will be called the "Kodiaq". The name is inspired from the Kodiak bear, which is found near the southern coast of Alaska. The vehicle is expected to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held in October 2016.

The Kodiaq will measure 4.7 metres in length. The vehicle is based on the Volkswagen Group's MQB platform. The exterior styling is expected to draw inspiration from the VisionS concept, which was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

The SUV is expected to come in 5 & 7-seater configurations and is likely to get a 12-inch digital instrument panel and a vertically aligned 8-inch screen in the center console.

The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to be launched in India in 2017.
