Lamborghini Temerario supercar globally unveiled

The Temerario is expected to go on sale internationally either later this year or early 2025.

Lamborghini has taken the wraps off the all-new 'Temerario' supercar - the successor to the brand's Huracan.

The Temerario, which Lamborghini calls an HPEV (High-Performance Electrified Vehicle), features a brand new V8, built from the ground up - replacing the naturally-aspirated V10 of the Huracan. The all-new supercar is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a plug-in hybrid setup featuring three electric motors, including an axial-flux motor integrated into its 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The powertrain puts out a total output of 920 BHP and revs up to 10,000 rpm. The IC engine alone churns out 789 BHP and 729 Nm, while the three electric motors offer a boost of 148 BHP and 300 Nm. The supercar also comes with a small 3.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which can be charged in 30 minutes using a 7 kW AC charging port. However, Lamborghini doesn't list an EV-only driving range. The new powertrain allows the Temerario to sprint from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.7 seconds and reach a claimed top speed of 211 mph (339.5 km/h).

Moving to the design, Lamborghini seems to have combined styling elements from the outgoing Huracan and its larger sibling, the Revuelto. The Temerario features sleek headlights upfront with hexagonal LED DRLs on the front bumpers. The supercar sits on a staggered wheel setup with 20 and 21-inch alloys at the front and rear, respectively. Lamborghini offers forged and carbon fibre wheel options. There is a large vent in front of the rear wheels. It is said to improve downforce by 103% compared to the Huracan EVO. At the rear, the Temerario continues the hexagonal styling for the LED tail lights.

Lamborghini offers the Temerario with an Alleggerita lightweight package, which includes a larger rear wing, unique bumper design and carbon fibre rims - leading to a 158% increase in downforce compared to the Huracan EVO and a 25 kg weight reduction over the standard Temerario.

Inside, the Lamborghini Temerario carries forward the hexagonal styling. It comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch vertical infotainment screen in the centre and a 9.1-inch touchscreen display for the passenger. The 3-spoke steering wheel seems to have been carried over from the Revuelto.

Lamborghini is yet to announce the pricing for its latest supercar. The Temerario is expected to go on sale internationally either later this year or early 2025.
