Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 facelift spied again

A facelifted version of the Alto 800 was spied earlier this month (click here to read report). Now, new images of the car have surfaced on the internet.

The images of the interior of the car reveal that the overall design of the dashboard remains the same as that of the outgoing model. The VXi variant is equipped with an audio head-unit with USB and AUX connectivity. This is not available as a part of standard equipment in the current Alto 800. The car also uses a lighter shade of grey fabric on the door panels.

Exterior design changes include a restyled front grille, reworked front bumper and tweaked headlamps. Fog lamps are expected to be available on higher variants. There are no changes to the rear and sides of the Alto 800.

In April 2016, the Alto registered a drop in sales - 16,583 units as compared to 22,101 units in March. However, it still remains the best-selling car in India. Rumours suggest that Maruti Suzuki might introduce a tallboy version of the car in the days to come.

The current model of the Alto comes with a 796cc, 3-cylinder, petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 12-valve engine makes 47 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 69 Nm of torque @ 3,500 rpm.

The refreshed Alto 800 is expected to be launched later this month.
