Mahindra Thar Roxx launched at Rs 12.99 lakh

The Thar Roxx is available with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine options.

Mahindra has finally launched the Thar Roxx in the Indian market. The 5-door version of the Thar is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh for the base Petrol MX1 trim and Rs 13.99 lakh for the base diesel variant.

The Thar Roxx features a distinct design that helps differentiate it further from the 3-door Thar. It has a unique grille with six vertical elements that are split horizontally and flanked by circular LED headlamps with integrated C-shaped LED DRLs.

The Thar Roxx has a chunky front bumper that houses a pair of LED fog lamps with cornering lights, flared wheel arches, rectangular LED tail lamp clusters and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel at the rear. The SUV rides on 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.

While the interior of the Thar Roxx looks similar to the 3-door version, Mahindra has used soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels. There's a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster of the same size. Higher variants are expected to get features like ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, power windows, a sliding front armrest, and ambient lighting, to name a few.

The base variant of the Thar Roxx is available with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 160 BHP and 330 Nm and a 2.0-litre diesel that puts out 150 BHP and 330 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The Thar Roxx rides on a Penta Link suspension with Watt's Link and gets a Brake Locking Differential. The base variants get safety features like 6 airbags and ESC as standard.
