Mahindra inaugurates spare parts warehouse in Jaipur

Mahindra has inaugurated a spare parts warehouse in Jaipur. This warehouse is the company's first such establishment in northern India. It will provide spare parts for both - automotive and farm equipment businesses in the north and north-western region of the country.

Located at the Mahindra World City in the outskirts of Jaipur, the warehouse is spread over an area of 11 acres with an additional 5 acres of space reserved for future expansion. The automaker has invested Rs. 150 crore in the project and claims to have generated 450 direct and indirect jobs. The four storied warehouse is capable of storing Rs. 130 crore worth of inventory.

Once operational, the warehouse will be procuring spare parts from over 1,000 vendors and 9 plants. It will then implement SAP – EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) in an attempt to ensure simpler and faster warehousing. The automaker is aiming to reduce processing time for customers in north and north-western India. The company claims that the warehousing, storage and delivery processes will ensure availability of spare parts in less than 4 days.

The Jaipur-based warehouse is Mahindra's fourth such facility in the country, after Kanhe for Automotive Parts, Bhiwandi for Tractor parts and Hyderabad for Commercial Vehicle Parts. The automaker is planning to establish more such warehouses in West Bengal and the Southern states.
