Kawasaki Z800 launched at Rs. 8.05 lakh

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, Kawasaki has added another model to its India line-up with the launch of the Z800, thus taking its total number of offerings to seven.

The Z800 is powered by an 806 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, in-line 4-cylinder, 4-stroke engine, developing 113 PS @ 10,200 rpm and 83 Nm of torque @ 8,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox transmits this power to the rear wheel.

The Z800 uses a tubular backbone, high-tensile steel frame with a 41 mm inverted fork suspension at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear. Dual 310 mm petal disc brakes and a single 250 mm petal disc brake are mounted on the front and rear multi-spoke alloys respectively.

Kawasaki is bringing the Z800 to India through the CBU route, attracting maximum duties. The bike is priced at Rs. 8.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

At present, Kawasaki has two dealerships in India, one at Pune and one at Delhi. It plans to increase this number to five by the end of the 2015.
