India-made VW Vento scores 5 star rating in Latin NCAP

India-made Volkswagen Vento scores a 5-star Latin NCAP rating. The car weighs 1,387 kg and is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, front seat belt pre-tensioners, seat belt reminder and ISOFIX anchorages.

For adult occupants, the crash test resulted in a score of 14.73 (max score is 17.00), thus achieving 5 stars. For child occupants, it scored 34.16 (max score is 49.00), thus achieving 3 stars.

Latin NCAP performs frontal off-set crash test for each car to give them a star rating. Only those cars which may reach a 5 star rating, are tested for side impact too. The 2015 Vento also passes the side impact test and the body integrity is certified as 'stable'.
