Force Motors plans to set up new plant at Chakan

Pune-based Force Motors has two plants in India. Now it is planning to expand operations by setting up one more facility. This new plant will be located at Chakan, near Pune.

The new facility will build automotive parts such as engines, gearboxes and axles and will have a capacity of 50,000 sets per annum. The company already owns land and necessary steps are being taken to obtain permissions for the construction and establishment of the facility.

Force Motors manufactures small commercial vehicles and tractors at its Pune plant and rolls out SUVs, MUVs and other commercial vehicles from its Pithampur facility.

Last year, Force Motors had revealed that it was planning to set up a new plant for assembling engines for BMW. Earlier this week, the German manufacturer confirmed that it would be sourcing engines and gearboxes from Force Motors.
