Facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser Prado launched in India

Japanese carmaker, Toyota has launched the facelifted Land Cruiser Prado in India. The car will cost Rs. 84,87,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new Prado comes with some changes to the exterior and equipment.

Changes to the exterior include a new front grille, bumper, fog lamps, LED head lamps, daytime running lights, rear lamps and rear licence plate garnish.

Toyota has equipped the car with crawl control – a system that eliminates the need to use the accelerator and brake while the vehicle is being driven over rough terrain or slippery surfaces, which enables the driver to concentrate fully on steering the vehicle.  The car also gets multi-terrain select, which allows the driver to choose between various road conditions like rock, rock and dirt, mogul, loose rock and mud and sand. A multi-terrain monitor has been provided to present a clear view of the surroundings. Additionally, there is a 7-inch display unit and new optitron meter.

The second row seat gets a heater. Ornamental changes have been made to the centre console and a tyre pressure monitoring system has been provided as a safety feature.

Toyota is offering the new Prado in five colours – white pearl crystal shine, silver metallic, grey metallic, dark blue metallic and black. The interior can be had in two colours – flaxen and black.

Mechanically, the Prado is unchanged. The vehicle retains the 2982 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 173 PS and 410 Nm of torque and 5-speed automatic gearbox from the outgoing car.

Bookings for the new Toyota Prado have started.
