Aprilia RS 457 production begins in India

Customer deliveries of the RS 457 will begin from March 1, 2024.

The first units of the Aprilia RS 457 have started to roll out of Piaggio’s manufacturing plant at Baramati, near Pune.

The Aprilia RS 457 was launched in December last year, priced at Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The bikemaker plans to commence customer deliveries from March 1, 2024.

The Aprilia RS 457 is a fully-faired bike that competes with the KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400 in the Indian market.

The RS 457 is powered by a 457cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 47 BHP, which puts it in the same league as the KTM RC 390. The engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets a ride-by-wire system and an optional quick shifter.

The RS 457 features a 41 mm upside-down front fork with a mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by a 320 mm disc paired with a 4-piston caliper and a 220 mm disc at the rear, supported by dual-channel ABS.
