Why I replaced my 4500 km run Polo GT TSI with an i20 N Line DCT

It was a sudden decision which transpired just a few days ago. I was not even in the market looking for a new car and everything happened in a proverbial flash.

After 5 years of ownership of my 2018 GT TSI I decided to move on and buy something new. It was a sudden decision which transpired just a few days ago. I was not even in the market looking for a new car and everything happened in a proverbial flash. To tell you the truth I thought I would end up keeping my GT TSI for several more years as there was no car in the hatchback market that could excite me like the GT TSI did, or so I thought, when I stumbled upon a few Youtube reviews posted by fellow BHPian and VAG fanboy Prithwi Ray where he reviews his Hyundai I20 N Line DCT. I was stunned to see how someone who is an ardent fan of the GT TSI (DSG) was extolling the N Line DCT. After spending a few hours checking out all his videos I decided to go and test drive the i20 N Line DCT to see if it was actually as good as he says it is. The i20 N line DCT has been in the market for a couple of years however i never took an interest in it as I didn't expect it to be any competition to the GT TSI which is why I never even bothered to test drive it. Boy was I pleasantly surprised during my short test drive. The i20 N Line DCT ended up checking all the boxes, it was always a good looking car with great tech but the main thing was the power/handling which it nailed as well. So basically that was the icing on the cake for me and i made up my mind to book the i20 N Line DCT immediately after the test drive.

The very next day i placed an ad for my GT TSI on OLX and it was sold in less than two hours of placing the ad. My car had just 4500 Kms (not a typo) on the odometer at the time of sale. As I type this, my i20 N Line DCT is in transit and I should be taking delivery of it soon. Other reasons why I sold my GT TSI are because the Polo has been discontinued and I didn't want to take a huge hit on depreciation of a discontinued model, I have been using polo GT TSI's since 2013 with just a two year gap in between when i owned the Abarth Punto. In other words the polo was beginning to grow on me and i was yearning a change.

I apologize to all the BHPians who expressed interest in my car in the past through private messages especially BHPian thepilot. I never informed any of you about the sale of my car as i wanted to sell it to someone from my state (AP) just to avoid hassles regarding transfers and registration.
