Volvo S60 Cross Country to be launched on March 11, 2016

Volvo has announced that it will launch the S60 Cross Country in India on March 11, 2016.

Volvo had revealed the S60 Cross Country sedan in January 2015. Based on the regular S60 sedan, it gets an increase in ground clearance, black cladding on the wheel arches, black wing mirrors and skid plates that give it a more rugged appearance.

In global markets, the S60 Cross Country is offered with a choice of three engines - one petrol power plant and two diesel units.

The petrol engine is a 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder turbocharged (T5) unit that puts out 252 BHP and 360 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The first diesel engine is a 2.4-litre, 5-cylinder, turbocharged (D5) unit that produces 188 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, which sends the power to all four wheels. The second diesel mill is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged (D4) engine that develops 188 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. With this engine, the car comes in a front-wheel drive configuration.
