Volkswagen Polo with updates spied in Mumbai

Volkswagen appears to be gearing up to introduce yet another updated version of the Polo hatchback. A test mule of the vehicle was spotted in Mumbai.

Images suggest that the Polo will get projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs) similar to the ones seen on the Vento sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo and reworked tail lamps. It still remains uncertain whether the interiors of the car will be tweaked or whether it gets additional equipment, as Volkswagen had given it a few updates just a month ago.

On the mechanical front, the Polo is likely to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines as the current model. However, the diesel engine could sport a locally-sourced, larger turbocharger, which will bump up the power slightly, up to 110 BHP in the GT TDi.

The Polo falls in the highly competitive B2 segment in India. With constant updates, Volkswagen is trying to maintain interest of prospective buyers in this hatchback.
