Turkey: Fiat Aegea (Linea successor) revealed

Italian carmaker Fiat, has revealed a new sedan at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey. This car is rumoured to be a replacement for the Linea.

The Aegea has been designed by the FCA style centre, jointly with Tofas R&D. The car will be produced in Turkey, at the Tofas factory in Bursa. Sales will begin in Turkey next November and continue in over forty countries in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions. When it goes on sale, Fiat is expected to use a different name for it.

The Aegea gets sweptback headlamps that merge into a bold grille with chrome inserts and a Fiat logo in the middle. The bonnet, roof and sides of the car get multiple creases. The car measures 4.5 m in length, 1.78 m in width and 1.48 m in height with a wheelbase of 2.64 m. It can seat five passengers and carry 510 litres of luggage.

The interiors of the Aegea are all-black with silver inserts. Many parts are carried over from the Fiat 500X and 500L. Equipment includes a Uconnect infotainment system with a 5-inch colour touchscreen, a hands-free Bluetooth system, audio streaming, text reader and voice recognition, AUX and USB ports with iPod integration, steering wheel controls and, on request, a rear parking camera and TomTom sat nav.

Engine options for the Aegea include two Multijet II turbodiesel and two petrol units, with manual or automatic transmission. These engines come with power ratings of between 94 and 118 BHP. Fiat claims that the diesel engines are capable of delivering a fuel efficiency of over 25 kpl.
