Triumph Speed 400 dispatch begins; deliveries by month end

The Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices for the Scrambler 400X will be announced at a later date.

The first batch of Triumph Speed 400 has rolled out of Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant. The bikes will start reaching dealerships by the end of this month, with customer deliveries expected around the same time.

The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X are the brand's most affordable offerings. The bikes were unveiled in London on June 27 before being launched in India on July 5, 2023, at a price of Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Speed 400.

The Speed 400 is a neo-retro roadster. It features a circular LED headlamp with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and a single-piece seat. The bike is equipped with bar-end mirrors, single upswept exhaust and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The bike is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled engine that makes 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a torque-assist clutch.

The Speed 400 is equipped with an upside-down front fork offering 130 mm of travel and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking power is provided by a 300 mm rotor at the front and a single disc at the rear.
