Xiaomi will sell its SU7 Ultra only after customers pass a driving test

Xiaomi is aiming to make the SU7 Ultra the world's fastest 4-door sedan to date.

Xiaomi unveiled its flagship sports sedan, the SU7 Ultra Prototype, earlier this year. Now, the company has announced that the model will enter production soon.

Ahead of its arrival in global markets, fresh reports now suggest that potential buyers of the 4-door super sedan will have to pass the company's driver exam before getting their hands on one. The reports state that customers of the SU7 Ultra will have to go through "a step-by-step exam to unleash car". However, details of what the exam entails exactly remain unknown.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype, unveiled earlier, is an extreme track-focused 4-door sedan powered by three electric motors. The powertrain puts out a combined output of 1,548 BHP, allowing it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds, while 0-200 km/h takes under 6 seconds.

The SU7 Ultra is the range-topping variant of the 4-door sedan. The other three lower trims include the SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max.

Xiaomi is aiming to make the SU7 Ultra the world's fastest 4-door sedan to date. The company has already scheduled the SU7 Ultra to set a lap time around the Nurburgring in October this year.
