Triumph announces on-road prices of the Speed 400

Prices for the Triumph Scrambler 400X will be announced at a later date.

Earlier this month, Triumph announced the prices for the Speed 400 in India. Priced at Rs 2.33 lakh, the Speed 400 is Triumph's most affordable model.

Following the launch, reports emerged of dealers quoting an on-road price of Rs 3.2-3.5 lakh, which was quite high. Triumph was quick to rubbish these reports stating that the on-road prices would be announced soon.

Keeping its promise, Triumph has confirmed that the Speed 400 costs Rs 2.68 lakh in New Delhi. The on-road price in Maharashtra and Karnataka is slightly higher at Rs 2.9 lakh.

So, for under Rs 3 lakh, you get a naked roadster that is powered by a 398cc, liquid-cooled engine producing 39.5 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 37.5 Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a torque-assist clutch.
