Toyota makes the longest lasting vehicles, says new study

The study also mentioned that in general, Toyota topped the list among brands.

According to a new study, Toyota unsurprisingly has dominated the list of longest-lasting vehicles, claiming the top 5 positions among the top 10.

The longevity study also shows 6 Toyota models and 1 Lexus model in the top-10 list - translating to 70% of the top 10 long-lasting vehicles on the road being Toyota products.

The study defines long-lasting vehicles as those which can achieve 250,000 miles. Among them, the Toyota Tundra is ranked on top with a 36.6% (highest) chance of reaching the mileage figure - 4.2 times the average. The Toyota Sequoia, 4Runner, Tacoma and Highlander Hybrid complete the top 5 with 36.4%, 26.8%, 26.7% and 25.9% chances of reaching 250,000 miles. The Toyota Avalon came in eighth position with a 22% chance, while the Lexus GX was ninth with a 20.7% chance of hitting the given mileage figure. The Honda Ridgeline, Chevrolet Suburban, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 completed the top 10.

The study also mentioned that in general, Toyota topped the list among brands. The study showed a 17% chance of any Toyota vehicle reaching 250,000 miles - double the industry average. Honda was second (13.6%), and Ram came third (11.5%).

The study, currently in its 11th year, reviewed 402 million vehicles to determine the longest-lasting model on American roads.
