Toyota Corolla Cross gets a hybrid heart in America

The Corolla Cross Hybrid packs 194 BHP and returns 15.73 km/l.

Toyota has introduced the Corolla Cross with a hybrid powertrain in the US.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid features a fifth-generation hybrid system offering a combined output of 194 BHP. The SUV also comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Toyota claims that the car sprints from 0-96 km/h in 8.0 seconds and returns 15.73 km/l.

The Corolla Cross features a bold front end with a large radiator grille and sleek wraparound headlamp clusters. The car has muscular wheel arches with plastic cladding all around that gives it a rugged look.

On the inside, the car gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. It has a conventional instrument cluster and a 3-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters.

The safety kit offered in the Corolla Cross Hybrid includes Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beams, Road Sign Assist, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
