Terra Motors reveals the R6 electric three-wheeler

Japan's Terra Motors has revealed the R6 three-wheeler. The launch of the electric vehicle is expected to take place in early 2015. Length x width x height dimensions come in at 2,950 mm x 1,090 mm x 1,800 mm. The R6 is powered by a 48V 100Ah lead acid battery which can power the three-wheeler up to a claimed top speed of 30 km/h.

Terra claims the R6 can manage a range of 100 kms on a full charge. The stated charge time is between 1-2 hrs for an 80% charge, while a 100% charge can take 7 hours or more. The chassis has been designed to carry 1 driver+6 passengers. The battery weighs 150 kgs while the chassis tips the scales at 278 kgs.

Terra is hoping to achieve 10,000 unit sales annually, but the fate of the R6 lies in its price, which will be revealed next year.
