India-spec Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ revealed ahead of launch

The EQA rivals premium compact electric SUVs like the BMW iX1 and Volvo XC40 Recharge.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the EQA electric SUV for the Indian market. It will be available in a single variant – EQA 250+, and the prices will be announced on July 8, 2024.

The Mercedes EQA is essentially a pure-electric version of the GLA SUV. It will also be the brand’s most affordable EV in India.

The overall shape of the EQA looks similar to the GLA. However, it has a unique front and rear design, which helps differentiate it from the ICE version. It has a black front fascia, with the Mercedes logo in the centre, flanked by different LED headlamp clusters and a full-width LED light bar. The rear features slim LED taillights connected by an LED light bar. The number plate is mounted lower down on the bumper.

The interior of the Mercedes EQA is identical to that of the GLA. It features dual 10.25-inch screens, a 3-spoke steering wheel, turbine-style air-conditioning vents and ambient lighting.

The EQA 250+ is a single-motor variant offering a peak output of 188 BHP and 385 Nm. The car uses a 70.5 kWh battery pack offering a range of 560 km (WLTP cycle). The battery can be charged from 10-80% in 35 minutes using a 100 kW DC fast charger. The car comes with an 11 kW AC charger.
