New car launches in India in July 2024

Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in July 2024.

BMW 5 Series LWB

BMW opened bookings for the all-new 5 Series Long Wheelbase in India on June 22.

In India, the new 5 Series is likely to be offered with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. Both engines will be paired with a mild-hybrid system and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase will be officially launched on July 24, 2024.

Nissan X-Trail

Nissan has released a teaser of its upcoming premium SUV, the X-Trail. The carmaker has also confirmed that it will be launched in the Indian market soon.

In India, the X-Trail is expected to be offered with a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The unit produces 201 BHP and 305 Nm and will be paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Whether Nissan will offer an AWD version remains to be seen.

MINI Cooper S

Mini India has announced that the new-gen Cooper S will be launched on July 24.

The new-gen Mini Cooper made its global debut in September last year. It comes in 'Cooper C' and 'Cooper S' trims, powered by a 154 BHP 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 201 BHP 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, respectively.

MINI Countryman Electric

Mini India has announced that the Countryman Electric will be launched on July 24.

The Mini Countryman Electric shares its underpinnings with the BMW iX1. The electric SUV comes in two variants: E and SE ALL4.

Both variants come with a 64.7 kWh battery pack. The base variant has a single electric motor, which makes 204 BHP and 250 Nm, while the SE trim has dual electric motors that produce 313 BHP and 493 Nm. The E trim offers 461 km of range, while the SE can cover 433 km on a single charge (WLTP cycle).

Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes-Benz is all set to launch its smallest pure-electric offering, the EQA, in India on July 8, 2024.

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is positioned below the EQB as an entry-level premium electric SUV. It is essentially a pure-electric version of the GLA crossover.

In the international market, the EQA is available in four variants starting with the EQA 250 and EQA 250+ with 188 BHP and 385 Nm, EQA 300 4Matic with 225 BHP and 390 Nm and EQA 350 which has 288 BHP and 520 Nm. All variants come with a 66.5 kWh battery that is said to offer up to 560 km of range (WLTP cycle).

Mercedes will offer the long-wheelbase version of the sedan in India. The launch could be imminent, as the latest model has just been spotted at the factory in Chakan, Pune.

The India-spec E-Class LWB is likely to come with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with a mild-hybrid system.
