Last month, Hyundai launched the Creta crossover in India at prices starting from Rs. 8.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is available with a choice of seven body colours - Polar White, Sleek Silver, Pearl Beige, Stardust, Mystic Blue, Red Passion and Phantom Black.

The exteriors of the Creta features a singular hexagonal grille with three horizontal slats, sweptback projector headlamps, skid plates at the front and rear, roof rails, black body cladding, blackened A and B-pillars, wraparound tail lamps and a roof-mounted spoiler. On the inside, the Creta gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard with silver accents and a multi-function steering wheel.

The Creta is available with a choice of three engines:

  • 1,591cc, 4-cylinder, Dual VTVT petrol, 121 BHP @ 6,400 rpm, 151 Nm @ 4,850 rpm, 6-speed manual gearbox available in L, S, SX+ trim levels
  • 1,396cc, 4-cylinder, CRDi diesel, 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm, 220 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm, 6-speed manual gearbox - available in L, S, S+ trim levels
  • 1,582cc, 4-cylinder, CRDi VGT diesel, 126 BHP @ 4,000 rpm, 260 Nm @ 1,900-2,750 rpm, 6-speed manual / 6-speed automatic gearbox  - available in SX, SX+, SX(O) trim levels
