Suzuki iM-4 patent images surface

Suzuki had revealed the iM-4 compact SUV concept at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. Now, the patent images of what is likely to be the production version of the car, have surfaced on the internet.

The images indicate that the production version will look similar to the concept. However, its styling will be toned down slightly, with smaller wheels, restyled door mirrors and restyled door handles.

The iM-4 concept measured 3,693 mm in length, 1,709 mm in width and 1,566 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,438 mm. It was powered by a 1.2-litre Dualjet engine with an SHVS mild hybrid system (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) with lithium-ion batteries. The vehicle also had a four-wheel drive system. The production version could also get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged Booseterjet engine.

The Suzuki iM-4 is likely to go into production by the end of 2016. It is not clear whether the car will be launched in India.
