Skoda Rapid facelift revealed in undisguised spy shots

Skoda will be launching the facelifted Rapid tomorrow, i.e., 3rd November 2016. However, a day before its official launch, the Rapid facelift has been revealed through a set of undisguised spy shots. The images appear to have been captured at a dealer stockyard, and showcase a white Rapid facelift, parked adjacent to the model it will replace.

The most prominent changes on the outside have been made at the front, as a result of which, the facelifted model gets a relatively sharper face. It gets Skoda's new grille, which is flanked by new headlight assemblies. The front gets a wide air dam that ends in large fog lamps on both sides. The side indicators have now been moved to the ORVMs, while the rear gets a new bumper and a shark fin antenna.

The interior won't get any design related changes, however, there will be a new infotainment system on offer that will support MirrorLink smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS navigation, and a reverse parking camera.

The new Rapid will also be equipped with an updated version of the 1.5-litre TDI engine that will now be rated at 108 BHP and 250 Nm. The 1.6-litre petrol MPI engine is expected to be carried forward without any change.
