Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun to get Play infotainment system

The new Play infotainment system has been jointly developed by Volkswagen Brazil and Visteon.

The upcoming Skoda Kushaq and its sister car, the VW Taigun will be offered with a new 'Play' infotainment system.

The new Play infotainment system has been jointly developed by Volkswagen Brazil and Visteon. It consists of a 10.1-inch touchscreen head-unit with a resolution of 1540x720 pixels and offers split-screen and rear-view camera functions.

The system will come with pre-configured applications and will allow users to download new apps depending on their requirement. It will also offer in-car Wi-Fi, live-streaming, Valet Mode, connected car tech and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Kushaq and Taigun share the same MQB-A0-IN platform. The crossovers will be available with two engine options - a 1.0-litre, 113 BHP TSI petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission, and a 1.5-litre 148 BHP TSI petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
