BMW CE 02 to be launched in India by end-2024

Unlike the CE 04 which is imported as a completely built unit (CBU), the CE 02 will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant.

According to a media report, BMW Motorrad is likely to launch the CE 02 electric scooter in India by the end of this year. It will be sold alongside the CE 04 electric maxi-scooter.

Unlike the CE 04 which is imported as a completely built unit (CBU), the CE 02 will be manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant near Bangalore. In terms of pricing, expect the CE 02 to cost upwards of Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The BMW CE 02 has been designed and developed in collaboration with TVS. It is powered by a pair of 2 kWh lithium-ion batteries paired with a 15 BHP electric motor. The e-scooter has a top speed of 95 km/h and can travel up to 90 km on a single charge. BMW also offers a single battery version with a top speed of 45 km/h and a range of 45 km.

Both versions can be charged using either a 0.9 kW standard charger, which takes 5 hours 12 minutes to charge both batteries from 0 - 100%. The BMW CE 02 is also compatible with a 1.5 kW fast charger, bringing down charging time to 3 hours 30 mins.
